Ghost Hunters – Cashtown Inn
As always TAPS has some very interesting “evidence” of paranormal activity. This past week they were investigating the Cashtown Inn in Gettysburg. During the end of that nights investigation the crew slept in some the of the Inn’s rooms as overnight guests. Grant decided to place a Mini-DV camera facing a chair in his room that had in the past been reported to move on it’s own. Shortly after Grant got into bed he heard a noise of something moving in the corner where the chair was sitting. After review of the evidence it seems that a picture frame on the table sitting next to the chair moves twice within seconds of each other. So being an inquiring mind, we went back on the tape and noticed something a little fishy. Now this discrepency could possibly be due to some camera person moving items for their camera work. But it does raise some questions about honesty.
You will notice in this first image the picture frame sitting on the table. Note its relative position on the table and to other objects surrounding it. This image was taken before the start of the investigation.
In image two you will notice the relative position of the frame just prior to it moving. Seems suspicious to us that the frame had been moved for some reason prior to this recording. It’s an interesting peice of video, however there are some inconsistencies.
Questioning the validity of the evidence is not meant to knock TAPS or acuse anyone. Yet just to point out that if your doing an investigation, treat things more like a crime scene. Don’t move items unless you are explaining the reason for doing it.
The simple fact is the public is watching TAPS. You need to ensure that what you present to the public has everything covered. Unfortunately for TV we wil never get the full picture of what happened at an investigation. When it comes to big claims like a moving chair or picture frame etc etc, you need to cover your “assets.” Sceptics love to see stuff like this…
Alternate Before and After

I agree 100%. I was amazed when I first watched this episode. Im not sure that I disbelieve it, as I take the word of jason and grant pretty seriously, but you do raise a good point. consideration should be made by the members of TAPS to include a section of notes and other details pertaining to their investigations on their website. It could be kept similar to minutes for a meeting and made accessible to those who would like more information.
